The guarantee is not automatic.
Aviato reviews your environment and confirms eligibility in writing before the guarantee attaches to an engagement. If we do not issue that written confirmation, the guarantee does not apply, whatever else has been discussed or signed.
1. Who is eligible
Commercial enterprises with a verified AWS infrastructure spend of at least AUD $50,000 per month across the preceding three billing cycles.
Eligibility is assessed during the savings assessment and confirmed by Aviato in writing. We may decline an engagement for the guarantee and still offer to do the migration on normal commercial terms.
2. What the assessment needs from you
Read-only access to Cost Explorer and CloudWatch, and to any Azure environment in scope, during the assessment window. You also allow Aviato to connect its assessment tooling to those environments. We do not access production data or personal data at any point in the assessment.
3. How the baseline is set
The 20% reduction is measured against your previous 12 months of spend, normalised for seasonality. Retail and financial services workloads in particular are highly seasonal, and a baseline drawn from a quiet quarter would not represent the platform fairly in either direction.
The normalised baseline is agreed with you in writing before work starts. Without an agreed baseline there is no measurable result, and the guarantee does not apply.
4. Who does the work
Aviato performs the migration. We do not hand you a set of recommendations and leave you to implement them. We design the target architecture on Google Cloud, replatform and rearchitect the workloads, and run the cutover.
What we need from you is approval. You review and approve our designs and recommendations, and the guarantee applies to the scope you approve. Where you decline a recommendation, the affected workload is excluded from the measurement.
5. What we pay if we miss
If the migrated platform does not deliver at least a 20% annualised run-rate saving against the agreed normalised baseline, measured 30 days after migration go-live, Aviato pays AUD $50,000 directly to the client entity.
6. What the guarantee does not cover
The guarantee measures the workloads in the approved scope, against the agreed baseline. It does not cover:
- Growth in existing workloads, or new workloads added after the baseline is agreed. Spending more because you are doing more is not a failure of the migration.
- Scope where our recommendations were declined or only partly adopted. The guarantee assumes you take the full set of recommendations we make.
- Changes outside the agreed scope, including acquisitions, material changes to your platform strategy, or third-party pricing changes by AWS or Google.
7. One payout per client
Aviato pays at most one guarantee payout per client in any rolling 12-month period, across all guarantee-backed engagements. Holding both this guarantee and the Snowflake cost guarantee does not entitle a client to two payouts.
8. Google Cloud funding
Upfront assessment funding is subject to Google Cloud Migration Acceleration Program partner sponsorship approvals. That approval sits with Google, not with Aviato, and we cannot guarantee the outcome of it.
9. Currency
All amounts on this page are Australian dollars. Where an engagement is contracted through Aviato Pte Ltd in Singapore, the equivalent figures are agreed in Singapore dollars and stated in your engagement documents.
10. Where these terms sit
These are summary terms. The operative terms are the ones in your signed engagement documents, which take precedence if the two ever differ.
